What we believe

A short confession, not a complete systematic. The full counsel of God is in the Scriptures; this page names the convictions that govern the teaching.

   The Scriptures

   The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and sufficient Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and life. We labor to hear it as it is written — word for word, verse by verse — not as a springboard for our own ideas. “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” (John 17:17, LSB)

2. 02

   God

   There is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in essence, distinct in person, worthy of all worship. He is holy, wise, and good. All wisdom begins in the fear of Yahweh.

3. 03

   Jesus Christ

   Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the eternal Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived without sin, died in the place of sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will return in glory. He is Lord. The aim of all true teaching is that we would become deeply like Him.

   The Gospel

   All have sinned. Man is limited and incompetent before the wisdom of God, and cannot save himself. God graciously reveals His wisdom and His Son. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — not by works, so that no one may boast. The only hope of man is the Lord Jesus Christ.

   The Christian Life

   Those who belong to Christ are called to holiness, wisdom, and discernment. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. We are to seek Christ as Lord in all of life, receive the Father's instruction, and walk in the way of wisdom rather than the way of the fool.

   The Work of This Ministry

   Clarion Truth exists to proclaim the truth clearly: expository sermons and doctrinally sound teaching. The Church needs the message of God, and not of limited man. We sound the Word with a clear note, that the church might hear, believe, and obey.
